How to Play AUTODLE
Objective of the Game
AUTODLE is the premier daily automotive guessing challenge designed for sports car buffs, motorsport enthusiasts, and everyday automotive connoisseurs. Every day at 00:00 UTC, a new mystery vehicle is selected from our vast database spanning classic muscle legends, high-revving Japanese tuner icons, sculpted Italian supercars, German autobahn missiles, and modern hypercars.
Your objective is simple yet thrilling: accurately identify the exact Make and Model of the mystery car in six (6) guesses or fewer using progressive hints and comparative telemetry feedback.
Progressive Hint Unlock System
To ensure fair and strategic gameplay, hints are arranged in vertical cards directly above the guessing console. As you submit guesses, new clues automatically unlock:
- Hint 1 (Body Style & Engine Configuration): Unlocked right from the start. Reveals fundamental layout details such as chassis configuration, cylinder arrangement, induction method (naturally aspirated, turbo, supercharged), and drive wheels.
- Hint 2 (Performance & Horsepower): Unlocks after Guess 1. Discloses peak horsepower ratings, 0-60 mph acceleration benchmarks, top speeds, or RPM redlines.
- Hint 3 (Production Era): Unlocks after Guess 2. Provides the historical decade or generational timeframe during which the model was manufactured.
- Hint 4 (Signature Design & Trivia Clue): Unlocks after Guess 3. Offers a distinctive design cue (such as pop-up headlights, gullwing doors, active aero spoilers) or historical racing heritage milestone.
- Hint 5 (Country of Origin): Unlocks after Guess 4. Pinpoints the sovereign nation where the automaker originates (e.g. Germany, Japan, Italy, United States, United Kingdom, Sweden, France).
Color-Coded Feedback Columns
Every time you submit a guess, AUTODLE compares your guessed car against the hidden mystery car across six essential telemetry metrics:
- Green (Match): The spec or attribute matches the target vehicle exactly.
- Yellow / Arrows (Close Proximity): Indicates close numerical proximity (e.g., within 50 horsepower or within one decade) with an arrow (⬆️ / ⬇️) indicating whether the true value is higher or lower.
- Gray / Dark (Miss): The attribute does not match the target vehicle.
Game Modes: Daily vs. Unlimited
AUTODLE features two distinct game modes accessible at any time from the top navigation bar:
- Daily Challenge: A single synchronous puzzle shared worldwide each day. Perfect for testing your daily intuition, sharing results with friends, and building an unbroken win streak.
- Unlimited Mode: An endless arcade mode where you guess consecutive cars in a row until you fail. Solved cars reward points scaled to how few guesses were used (1,000 pts for 1st guess solve, 800 pts for 2nd guess, etc.), maintaining your lifetime high score locally.
